Locate and trace non-metallic utilities

Standard locating methods won’t work.

Non-metallic pipes cannot be detected using the standard locating method or sweep search because they don’t give off a detectable signal. Therefore you will need to thread an accessory into the utility to trace its location.

Easily detect non-metallic utilities.

In order to apply a signal to the utility so it can be located you will need to use a Sonde, which acts like a Signal Transmitter. It can be attached to a range of equipment and used to trace drains, sewers and other non-conductive pipes.

Why should I use this method?

  • To locate blockages or collapses in drains.
  • Ideal for tracing the path of a pipe or drain.
  • To estimate the depth of a pipe, when used in conjunction with a depth measuring locator.
  • Ideal for locating or tracing non-metallic pipes which will not show up using standard detection methods.
